Understanding Hybrid Battery systems vs. Off-Grid Systems

It’s important to understand that a hybrid battery system is quite different from a traditional off-grid system and setup. Many hybrid systems are designed to support only certain loads and are typically connected to a specific circuit in your meter box. For example, the Tesla Powerwall 3 provides enhanced flexibility and can manage loads with a surge capacity of 7 kW and your system remains connected to the utility network/grid.

Off-grid system are not connected to the utility network/grid and require another form of back up energy like a petrol or diesel powered generator to provide additional power when needed.

The rebate amount varies based on battery size, with larger batteries receiving higher payments, potentially up to $1,500 for a 27kWh battery.
